Hoi friends,

I was due to run the Den Haag CPC (Half Marathon) on March 13th for VluchtelingenWerk Nederland (Dutch Council for Refugees), but due to Corona it was cancelled.

INSTEAD, if I have decided to run both the rescheduled CPC on 25th September AND the Amsterdam Marathon on October 16th.

VWN supports Refugees from the moment they land in the Netherlands until they are able to live independently. They are one of the only dedicated Refugee charities in NL, whose sole purpose is to assist those who enter the country fleeing war, persecution and harm.

VWN assists asylum seekers with applications, pursue the reuinficaiton of refugee families and help refugees find work and employment in NL.

VWN also lobby the Dutch government on behalf of Refugees, arguing in favour of reduced detention times and fairer treatment, as well as advocating for Refugees by taking cases of unfair treatment to both national and EU courts.

In the wake of Corona, and global conflicts in Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan and elsewhere, refugees need our help more than ever and VWN are providing this vital assistance.
